Progressive for God

By: Rosanna Christopher

Created October 15, 2011

While at a test with my aunt, I noticed a sign that the hospital put up. It was undergoing some much needed renovations and the area was marked with caution signs and tape. The sign was placed delicately on an easel and read in white bold letters “Pardon our Progress. We’re building for the health of the community.” After I read the sign I couldn’t help but think of the scripture on being one body of Christ. I started to question the efforts of my father’s ministry and my own. I wondered if we were a help or a hindrance to Gods ministry in our community. Were we doing what God needed us to do? Was our obedience reaching the people around us in a positive way? Was God really shinning thru us?

As I pondered all these things I knew I had to write this. Its imperative that we all, as believers, ask ourselves these questions. We need to make sure that our efforts are for Christ and that we bear witness to the fruits of the spirit not the weeds of our humanity. Our lives should serve as a sign of God’s love an grace. We are the salt of the earth and our lives should speak for God. Do not make God a lie by claiming to follow Him. There is something for all of us to do in the kingdom of God. Let’s build for the health of the community.
